This project will investigate new methodologies for mapping digital data for research and educational purposes. Digital data is now an integral driver of an individual’s professional, social and economic futures. While there are increasing calls for improving data education – often as a form of ‘data literacy’ – responses have been limited by the difficulty of materialising data as a ‘text’ for analysis. Using creative software design, the outcome of this project will produce new methodologies to visualise and map data. Benefits will include theoretical innovation in conceptualising digital data leading to new methodologies and opportunities for critical data education.
