As explained in an earlier blog post, the Materialising Data project was designed to extend upon findings from the Data Smart Kids project (2018-2020). Funded by the Agencia Nacional de Investigation e Innovacion Uruguay, the Data Smart Kids project involved 250 kids in Australia and Uruguay. The project developed an educational chat app called ‘FriendSend’ along with a set of resources designed to build the critical data literacies of children. Now that the resources are freely available the project has been covered by local newspapers, namely the Geelong Advertiser and the SurfCoast Times.
